My own PhotoBlog
I was inspired by Romzkee Pomski, so i setup my own photoblog 
Setup of a photo gallery is easy, thanks to my hosting provider, Dreamhost. The web application running my photoblog is Menalto Gallery. I’m still tweaking some codes, and haven’t uploaded all my files. Now, i need to have a better digital camera. to compete with Romzkee Pomski :) Go Romzkee Pomski!
I’m not a writer
I’ve got several personal projects in mind, which i think will earn decent profit on a monthly basis. I had already created the scripts, copied a template design, bought a domain, and i already have a good hosting. The only problem is i don’t know how to write! 
I just wish that i could write, but my mind does want to write. I guess writing is a special talent, and not all individuals know how to write effectively. I only have 2 options left:
- Hire a copywriter, and pay on a per-article basis. Hopefully i can afford the rates of copywriters. I don’t have a big money to invest on this project though
- Partner with a copywriter, then split-up the profit from the website.
What’s your take?
CSS Newbie
I’m devoting my extra time to learn CSS. I admit, I’m a certified CSS newbie :D. I only know basic CSS, so I guess it’s about time i learn CSS to convert all my websites to CSS-driven designs. So far, i only know basic 2-column and 3-column designs. I know it will take some time for me to learn CSS. I just have to be patient.
Do you know any suggested books covering CSS in detail?
Looking Forward
I’ve been very-very busy the past few weeks, and again, forgot to post on my blog :D. Anyway, i’m now looking forward for the ff. things/events to happen before the year 2006 ends.
- Trip to Bicol - Mayon Volcano. I think this weekend will be the right time. My wife is already checking on flight schedule and hotel accomodation for our Mayon trip. Update: won’t happen this week
- Family vacation in Hongkong, Singapore or Shanghai. Final destination of our vacation will depend on my brother, coz if he’ll be assigned in Singapore, we’ll go there. Target Date: October.
- 1M savings in October. It’s actually $20K :D. Big thanks to G. I consider this a big achievement. I never knew that i could earn/save 1M in one year with G.
- Buy a family car in November. Still undecided which car, but i’ll buy a car for my family.
- Celebrate 2nd birthday of Janssen on Dec 21 on Jollibee Roosevelt Greenhills.
I don’t see any reason these things won’t happen. It’s been a wonderful year and it’s only August!
Google Robots and Sitemap
Cristian Mezei just made an interesting observation about Google’s robots.txt and sitemap.xml. Some links were pretty cool here, and here. So Google Dance is true afterall :D Look what i found, it’s Matt Cutts (last image)!

Jollibee is not a Black Hatter
There are numerous blog posts here, here, here, here and here, saying that Jollibee (website) is using black hat techniques. So is Jollibee (mascot) a Black Hatter :D? It was even published in Inq7 about the dirty tricks of Jollibee (website). Jollibee is dirty? Not the Jollibee (mascot), but the Jollibee (website)
I wouldn’t believe that Jollibee (website) would do black hat techniques directly. I suspect that this is an outsource job, and black hat techniques was the method use by that outsource company. Anyway, investigating further on sample doorway page, i dissect the source code and here’s what i found:
- lot’s of hidden links using a 1×1 pixel (1.jpg)
- links from various search engine queries with “Alt” attribute of the IMG field being keyword stuffed
- hidden texts in H1, H2, and H3
- Comments Keyword stuffing
But the thing that stands out is that there are outbound links going to www.on-linebrands.com. Who the hell is www.on-linebrands.com? Checking on G, they are a “Search Engine Optimization/Online Business Development”. So they are must be the Outsourcing Company hired by Jollibee (website) for their website optimization.
Did a background check on www.on-linebrands.com and guess what, i found other websites (here, here) with similar black hat techniques. It also includes a tagline “Optimized by Online Brands Ph Inc”.
By the way, i also found this link stating that a certain TrafficBus is also On-Line Brands. Hmmm…i still need to do more investigation regarding TrafficBus.
At least i have proven that Jollibee (mascot) is not a Black Hatter!

Adsense Account Termination and Appeal
Google Adsense is one of the most popular online revenue generating programs. You could earn small amounts of $100 per month, or even $10000+ dollar a month thru Google Adsense. What would you do if your Adsense account was terminated by Google?
The most common reason why your Adsense account was terminated is “invalid clicks”. It could be clicking your own ads, asking your friends to click your ads. Google can detect those invalid clicks. If you think you are guilty of invalid clicks, forget Adsense!
But if you really think you didn’t violate TOS of Google Adsense, and didn’t do any invalid/fraudulent clicks, you can file an appeal on Google using this Google Adsense Appeal form. You need to provide some sufficient data (such as logs) to Google, and hopefully Google will reinstate your account.
2 Day Celebration
We had 2 celebrations last week, Father’s Day (June 18), and our 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary (June 19). The Father’s Day is special to me, coz it’s the first time I celebrated it :). We went to SM Centerpoint, buy Janssen a new pair of shoes, played in World’s of Fun amusement, and had our dinner afterwards. I think it’s a wonderful moment on my part, being a proud dad!
The following day (June 19), was our 2nd Year wedding anniversary. We attend a morning mass on Mt. Carmel Shrine, buy gifts for each other, then went to Robinson’s Galleria with Janssen in the afternoon. We brought Janssen in one of a “play place” center in Galleria, then had our dinner.
Looking forward to celebrate it again next year, and next year, and next year….
Motorola L7 and iPod Nano
Yep, i finally bought a brand new Motorola L7 (Motorola SLVR) last sunday in Virramall! My wife also bought a 4Gb iPod Nano. Up next, a new digital camera and car!
