Smart Bro - Smart Wifi Reloaded

As a Smart Wifi subscriber, it’s no surprise that i’m always encountering disconnection problems using Smart Wifi’s wireless broadband service. Yesterday, i was having another “normal” disconnection problem, and as always, i’d be redirected to the portal page of Smart Wifi.

While trying to log-in through the portal page, it was redirected to Smart Bro portal! Smart Wifi is now being reloaded/relaunch as Smart Bro (short for Smart Broadband) - Amazing Wireless Broadband. Here’s the new portal for Smart Bro:

I guess Smart is now “smart” enough to know that the term “WIFI” does NOT fit to their product. IMO, relaunching the Smart WIFI to Smart Bro is purely a marketing strategy. With all the customer complaints Smart WIFI has been receiving, i don’t think Smart Bro will solve all Smart WIFI problems. Smart WIFI and Smart Bro, different name, still the same old, unreliable service.

    they just milk you and don’t give a proper service..

  5. dati satisfied ako sa Wifi ko pero ngayun, ewan ko lang kung ano ang ginwa o binago nila naging mahina at putol putol na ang mga signal…. malapit pa naman ako sa Cellsite nila.Its Sucks…

  6. Isa lang masasabi ko walang kwenta ang smart wifi… Hmmmp wifi daw alam kya nila meaning ng wifi!!!!! asus pru papblisity ayun bigla tuloy pinalitan pangalan naging smart bro hahahahha pro badtrip smart wifi dito sa laguna…

  7. ang tingin ko d tlga maganda ang wifi sa bansa natin.. puro bagyo maraming distraction sa connections.. kaya mas maganda pa ang pldy my dsl.. cable connection.. unlike smart bro..

  8. kaso the problem is that hindi lahat ng lugar sa pinas may internet connection via cable or phone line…

    to some people, especially in the province, this is the only alternative..

    I’m one of those people….though the connectiion is crappy, this is my only choice..I’m from Amadeo,Cavite

  9. grabe! kaya pala nang bilis magkabit tapos pa dadamahin ka lang ng isang linggo na may ok na connection. pagkatapos, puputulan na. then may isang taon ka nang obligasyon na magbayad para sa wala! it is horrifying to think that such a big corporation like smart would be acting like a small fry con man. tapos pag tumawag ka sa tech support nila, paiikut ikutin ka pa; “ipconfig /release /renew”, “base station”, “monitor your computer”, tapos sa huli, sasabihin, “im sorry sir, but the network is undergoing system enhancement”. Bakit hindi mo pa kaagad sinabi nung una pa lang!!!*%$#@. in fairness naman sa tech support, i know they are just doing their job, and that is to cover up for the incompetence of the smart management.

Buti kayo naka kabit na ako! shit nag aaply pa lang pahirap na? ni hindi ko matikman ang signal na sinasabi ninyo! kung ganun sila! wag na lang! sana yung bayantel sa skydsl kaso wala yata sa cavite nun? dun mismo sa Biwas tanza! baka naman may run kayong idea tukol sa bayantel kung saan ang loaction o office nila dun! pake na lang po sa inyo para po makabitan na ang pamilya ko sa pinas ng internet! nakukunsumi na ako sa smart nag aapply pa lang buwisit na?

  12. di ko alam pero noong una kasi napapansin ko na kapag maganda naman yung weather okay na okay yung service nila pero kapag makulimlim eh ang bagal ng connection kagaya ngayon 6 kbps lang ang donwload speed ko na dati ay 44-46 kbps. Sa umaga ko lang naa-achieve yung ganitong speed as of now. sana nga lang maayos ito ng smart dahil nagbabayad tayo noh!

    ang problema rin yung tech support maraming hinihingi, maraming sinasabi, maraming ipagagawa tapos kalalabasan ipamomonitor lang yung connection na wala namang improvement. kaasar noh?! ano ba dapat na gawin? kasi ang PLDT-dsl-w inilipat na rin sa smart bro eh. ang hirap naman ng ganitong nagbabayad ka ng maayos pero wala ka naman nakukuhang good service, para ka lang ginagatasan. Kung may alternative lang ako sa connection, siguro mas pipiliin ko pa yun. dapat ayusin nila ito!

  13. Dami palang complaints sa Service na to sana nag search muna ako bago nagsubscribe mukhang sasapitin ko rin ang kalbaryong pinagdaanan nyo cross finger na lang…

  14. Pwede pa ba kong umatras sa installation kasi sa Friday na kasi ang schedule ko. Ayoko naman magbayad sa loob ng 1 year na hindi ka satisfied sayang yang marami na mararating ng P999 sa panahon ngayon pero bale wala lang yata sa Smart yun kasi lalo pa silang ng papayaman pag nangyari yun baka i boykot ko ang Smart!! hehehe!!

  16. Eh ang kaso walang Globe line sa lugar namin. Nagdadalawang isip na ako kung wag ko na ipa install ung unit kasi siguradong one year na akong nakatali sa babayaran kong dial up este broadband pala. Mabilis ba silang mag refund baka kasi kasing bagal din ng connection ang pag release ng refund.

  18. i wasn’t able to connect to my smart wifi and it really sucks… i’m planning to have it disconnected kaso there’s a one year contract pa… hay… before i was kind of satisfied with the service. but lately wala na. the sad thing is that i called their hotline kaso ang “hot”line nila is very cold…

    lagi nlng n ddisconnect kya wlng kita s mga shops…

  21. im from cebu! comment lang ako sa smart bro ko….. kasi ok naman ang service at connection didto… nong nagka problema ako pinuntahan naman ako nang tech support nila,,, d kagaya nang globe broadband… PANGIT NANG SERVICE AT MABAGAL PA ANG CONNECTION….

  22. I was happy to see na hindi lng pala ako nag-iisa with the experience of smart bro. Sa start Ok naman ung connection ko. Download speed and everything. I even do my work at home. Though minsan affected ung signal pag-umuulan. Bat nung tumagal, sobrang bagal na ng connection nila. Ang dati kung 120Kbps na connection (Macafee internet speed meter) naging 20Kbps nalang. Halos araw araw na lng ako nakikipag-usap sa tech support nila but still i got the 20Kbps na speed.Now im planning to cut my subscription because of this. Hopefully Smart would do something…

  23. good thing i surfed the net. i almost went to the wireless center today to pay for my initial cash outlay. ang dami palang complaints sa SMART BRO. buti pala, hindi ko pa napadisconnect ang PLDTDSL ko. kahit mahal, ok naman ang service.

  24. ako nmn mag 1 month pa lng. actually globe ang ipapakabit ko ang ganda kc ng promo nila nung xmas 999 lng yung cable dsl nila then up to 512kbs pa ang offer nila na speed,tpos free 1 year use ng landline ang kaso mo, nung sinurvey nko lintek hindi daw visible~ anung klase kako yan nsa highway ako pero hndi visible.samantalang yung nsa looban nmin nka globe broadband. so e2 nag smart bro ako.

    ang habol ko lng nmn d2 malaro ko yung RF
    online na game. kaya nmn sya i run kaso napaka lag pag gabi. sa umaga smooth sya lalu na sa madaling araw, eh kaso anu yun hindi ako m22log para lng mkapag laro?! sabi ng friend ko ipa tono ko daw yung antena ko. pero try ko muna cguro mag reformat. pag mbagal pa din saka ko ipapatono or whatever,

  26. sobrang bad trip ko sa smartbro.. akala ko ako lang may prob na ganito, then i searched in “smartbro problems”, d pala ako nag-iisa. ok naman nga sya nung mga unang buwan pero lately grabee.. nakaka high blood. on and off ang connection, kung meron man super bagal pa! last nitr sabi sakin nung tech support e may prob daw antenna ko. wala daw wireless link chuva. tapos ngayong umaga nagkaron na. grrr talaga! ala ba tayo pde gawin para mapilitan sila ayusin service nila?!

  27. so,it’s true na madami din pala umaangal sa service ng smart at di lang ako!!! bad trip talaga sila kasi kahit maayos nagbabayad tayong mga subscribers nila…ung service naman nila ang di maayos!!! biruin nyo naman…dito lang ako sa caloocan loacated pero lagi na lang may problema sa connection ng internet ko…samantalang un neighbor ko na meron din smartbro..di ganun nangyayari sa kanya..kaya lalo ako naiinis sa service nila eh…biruin mo ilang beses na ko nag-request ng repositioning ng antenna ko..pero di nila magawa..di ko alam kung bakit…kaya nga iniisip ko ngaun na tapusin na ung contract ko sa kanila dahil palpak naman lagi service nila kahit na maayos naman ako nagbabayad…..i’d rather try na lang siguro un pldt mydsl….mukhang mas ok pa un kesa sa ganito nangyayari sa smartbro…

  28. I just completed filling up and processing a PD (Permanent Disconnection) request for my Smart Bro … Hindi magtatagal … mauubusan na rin sila ng customer. Any suggestion on the service provider na pwede kung lipatan?.

  32. alam ko dating meridian yan….. pero mabilis dati ang meridian… ang laki ng bawas ng speed ng smart bro,, sa ibang bansa daw. parehas ang bayad, pero 1.5 ang bilis ng connection..

  34. Akala ko akin lang, Tigas pla talaga ng mga mukha ng mga taga smart. Nakakapikon na. Icoconect for 3 minutes tapos putol na nanaman for 2 minutes. Araw araw ganito. Pwede bang idemanda tong mga hunghang na ito?

  37. Hi pwedi bang paki check naman ung coverage dito sa angeles pampanga ang bagal kasi eh lalo na kapag sa friendster nakakabagot. pro nung una mga month of may ok n ok talaga but now? hayyyyyyy… sana naman magawan nyo ng way to i love smart..

  38. i work with Verizon™ DSL in the U.S as a tech support here
    i can say that it’s like bayantel here in phils. (as ComCast is like PLDT - though Verizon is the largest one as it handles mobile (Verizon Wireless - like Smart) cable (DirecTV - Sky)

    akala ko ako lang may problema
    alam nyo ba everyday ako tumatawag sa tech support nila requesting for supervisor, wala silang maibigay na supervisor

    since day 1 ng service i was soooooo dissatisfied
    according sa contract it is 384kbps and possible to be burstible means lalagpas pa….

    baka what they mean with burstible is lalagpas pa sa kabagalan ng dial-up…sheezz…

    they always say na down ang base station d2 samen…my god

    samen sa Verizon kapag down ang base..pinakamatagal n ang 8 hrs para maghintay..resolve yun…except for storms, hurricanes and snow syempre

    tsaka dun kapag 768kbps…di lang 768 kbps….lagpas pa…864 p nga e…

    i know wireless is unreliable pero my god..if they will know this is not feasible…wag nila ituloy…

    pumapalya na cla sa smart mobile..wag na nila dagdagan…

  39. anu ba kayo, 356kbps lang ang smart bro/ max download nya eh 40kbps. ako satisfied na ako dito. wala talaga dsl samin, pagtyagaan na lang, ok naman sa akin walang disconnection, nagbayad mama ko ng 400 pesos para dagdagan yung antenna namin, ok naman, wala ng problem, padagdagan nyo tubo ng antenna nyo, kung hirap kayo sa signal. eh kung maraming building sa inyo, wag nyo na pakabitan, useless lang =]

  40. sobrang walang kwenta ng smart wifi…dati ako naka globelines pero wala lahat kwenta…magaaply n lng ako ng pldt dsl wired pa…asshole kaung mga taga smartbro technical..mga bobo….magresign n kau..

  41. Yang mga taga SmartBro na yan pati na pati yung mga CSR nila, puro mga tanga at inutil. Nagda-download ka, bigla na lang mapuputol, subukan mong i-ping yung server nila, hindi naman nag-rereply.
    Yung mga bobong technical CSR naman, kung anu-anong pangangalikot ang ipagagawa sa iyong PC.

    Diba, as clients, hindi natin trabahong hanapin ang problema. Ang trabaho lang natin ay kumonsumo at magbayad. Tama?

    I explores all the comment from April 2006 till the present but still same questions and problems….gosssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh ano ba yan walang pagbabago, Deny to Death ba? SMARTBRO please ayusin nyo naman yan kung gaano kami kabilis magbayad sana ganoon din kayo kabilis ang aksyon…!!!
